Skylight® Healthcare Systems CTO to Present at HIMSS13 Annual Conference and Exhibition
SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--
Skylight® Healthcare Systems, the pioneer in interactive
patient systems, today announced that CTO, Rick Holbrook, will
deliver an informational presentation titled "The Power of Patient
Engagement" at the Healthcare Information and Management Society's
(HIMSS) Annual Conference March 3 - 7 in New Orleans. The presentation
will discuss how interactive patient systems can seamlessly integrate
with hospital IT systems including electronic medical records (EMR),
orders, nurse call, dietary, and others to create an outstanding patient
experience while reducing nurse workload.
The healthcare industry is shifting priorities. Hospitals will be
rewarded for value instead of volume; readmissions within 30 days will
not only be discouraged but will be penalized; practice will shift to
relationship-based care from episodic care; and IT systems will be
measured on meaningful use, not just cost.
Holbrook will discuss how interactive patient systems help foster
interoperability among multiple departments and the overall impact this
can have on the patient experience. Additionally, he will address the
impact of connecting with the patient pre-admission and post-discharge
to collect vital outcome data that can help hospitals optimize care
across the entire continuum.
