Australia Post pushes the envelope with Microsoft hire

Jan 10, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia Post has hired Microsoft Asia-Pacific president Tracey Fellows to head its new communications management services business unit. Australia Post is bolstering its technology operations, investing $A1.6bn over four years, to ready itself for a more digitally orientated future. Posted letter volumes have fallen sharply but parcel deliveries due to online shopping have risen. Australia Post's 2011-12 revenue rose 2.6% to $A5.1bn, with profit increasing 16.6% to $A281m.
