Shinsuke Takahashi Joins NEC Corporation of America as President and CEO

NEC (News - Alert) Corporation of America (NEC America), a leading provider and integrator of advanced IT, networking, communications and biometric solutions, today announced that Shinsuke Takahashi has joined NEC America as president and CEO effective January 1, 2013. He succeeds Takayuki Okada, who is returning to Japan to take up new responsibilities at NEC Corporation. In his new role, Mr. Takahashi will oversee the company's diverse businesses in North America, including voice, data and IT solutions for enterprise, government and carrier markets.

Mr. Takahashi brings to NEC more than 20 years of extensive sales, marketing and business development, primarily with NEC Corporation and NEC America. His most recent position was as president of JAE Electronics, Inc., a provider of advanced electronic components and aerospace products based in Irvine, California. JAE Electronics, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Japan Aviation Electronics (JAE) Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan. NEC orporation is a shareholder in JAE Ltd.

Mr. Takahashi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sophia University, Tokyo, and participated in an International Exchange Program at the University of Wisconsin from 1978 to 1979.
