Boticca.com is based in London, UK, while the website's customers are in 55 countries around the world, with an even spread through the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East. Boticca.com features collections by designers in 40 countries, while consistently over 50% of all sales on the site are intercontinental.
With an international reach of this kind, combined with a newly launched public wishlist function, allowing women to build and share their own gift wishlists from the website via email, Twitter or Facebook, Boticca.com is uniquely positioned to gather data and form insights into what women actually want this holiday season, and particularly for that most emotionally charged gift: jewelry. Analyzing thousands of wishlists from the brand's 200,000 strong customer database, Boticca.com has unearthed some interesting statistics.
Findings
Findings show that contrary to popular belief, the perfect gift for her needn't break the bank as almost 60% of all wishlisted items on the site are under $150 and only 17% are priced over $300. Similarly, in contrast to the recent trend in jewelry for 'friendship' bracelets, it seems a celebration of friendship is not top of the wishlists, as rings and necklaces have come in joint as the #1 favored item with a 21% share each of wishlisted items. As rings can be a dangerous gift choice, with very different expectations and reactions from gifter to giftee placed on a ring box, especially at this time of the year, Boticca.com is anticipating thatunique necklaces will come out as the best gift seller this holiday season.
In terms of style, almost 40% of wishlisted items were found during searches for 'One of a Kind' or 'Casual Chic' styles of jewelry and almost 35% of items on wishlists were made using either yellow or rose gold with leather coming in second with 19%.
Additionally, Boticca.com has released a list of the most wanted gifts from the site, including a rundown of the top 20 items which have been wishlisted by the most women from the site's 9,500 unique products.
