Annual business event most successful to date [Grimsby Telegraph (UK)]
(Grimsby Telegraph (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Businesses from across the region recently joined HBP Systems for the company's annual event, entitled educate2012, for a selection of seminars on IT, accountancy and business advice.
With more than 100 attendees the event was the most successful of the three events held so far, which have been running since 2010.
As well as a full schedule of seminars, HBP was joined by a double-decker bus stuffed full of the latest software from Microsoft. Specialists representing Microsoft were on hand to display the functionality of Windows 8, the latest operating system from Microsoft, as well as Office 365 which hosts business software staples such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint in the Cloud.
With more than 100 attendees on the day, educate2012 improved on the previous attendee numbers. HBP commercial director Phil Denham co-ordinated the day and was delighted with the turnout. He said: "It is such a diverse subject so it's hard to make sure we put together a schedule which appeals to everyone. Luckily we can host four seminars at once at our offices, so we were able to have sessions on accounts software, IT and networking, marketing and general business advice all running at the same time. "This is the third time we've run the event this way, and with so many people coming each year, hopefully that means we're getting something right!" HBP Systems has recently been celebrating its most successful year since forming in 1991, and has attracted a number of customers in the area for its IT support services and accounting software systems, such as Sage 200 and Pegasus Opera 3. Another similar event is already planned for 2013 aimed at local businesses, and HBP Systems customers and Mr Denham will be looking to improve the day once again.
"We've had some brilliant feedback about the event and the speakers this year, but we're going to look to better it again next year. Some of the suggestions we've had in already have been great but we'll keep talking to more SMEs in the local area as well as our customers to see if we can cover as many suitable topics as possible at educate2013."
