SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

"For those writers who do not have a personal editor at their disposal,
Grammarly serves as an extra set of digital 'eyes' that is always
available to English writers," said Dr. Berwick. "Grammarly is nimble;
it brings grammar analysis to a new level, which is where behemoths like
Microsoft's (News - Alert) spelling and grammar checker fall short. I am thrilled to
help the Grammarly team provide students, professionals, and advanced
language learners with the most accurate online tool to help improve
their written English."
Dr. Berwick brings more than 30 years of expertise in human language to
his advisory role at Grammarly. He has written eight books and more than
200 articles on the nature of language and its computational properties,
ncluding how language is learned, how it develops and differs, and how
it evolves and changes over time. Dr. Berwick earned a bachelor's degree
in applied mathematics from Harvard University, as well as a Master of
Science and doctorate in computer science from Massachusetts Institute
of Technology.
"Dr. Berwick is a visionary in the fields of computational linguistics,
computer science, and machine learning," said Brad Hoover, CEO at
Grammarly. "As a professor at MIT (News - Alert) for more than a quarter-century, his
guidance and knowledge provide an invaluable complement to our team. We
look forward to working together to help English writers worldwide by
continually advancing Grammarly's algorithms."
In addition to its flagship product, the Grammarly®
