Telecommunication Systems, a division of Toshiba (News - Alert) America Information Systems (TAIS), has announced the integration of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 Remote Call Control (RCC) capabilities with its Toshiba Strata CIX family of Voice over Internet Protocol, also known as “VoIP”, business communication systems.
With this latest integration, enterprise users of Toshiba’s Strata CIX family of VoIP business communication systems can now Click-to-Dial from Microsoft (News - Alert) OCS 2007 using a Toshiba Strata telephone device.
Toshiba’s Strata CIX line of IP systems are engineered to help unify, coordinate, and streamline enterprise user’s communications. Office Communications Server 2007 manages all real-time communications such as instant messaging, VoIP, audio and video conferencing, while RCC provides Microsoft Office Communicator an ability to control a PBX (News - Alert) phone.
The integration is compatible with Toshiba’s IP and digital telephones, and also Toshiba’s SoftIPT softphone, according to company officials. Also, users can access telephony status information for other callers on the Strata CIX system and view information on their Microsoft OCS Enhanced Presence screen.
“In providing an integrated solution with Microsoft OCS 2007, Toshiba is delivering on its promise to expand its Unified Communications (News - Alert) offerings by giving customers a choice in how they communicate with their Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP system,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division.
Thanks to the voice integration between the Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP system and Microsoft OCS 2007, enterprise users can now maximize the benefits of both applications for telephony activities, and improve employee communication, collaboration and overall productivity, also said Katz Yamaguchi, product manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division.
Last month, Telecommunication Systems Division launched its new DKT2404-DECT (News - Alert) digital DECT cordless telephone for the Toshiba Strata CIX family of VoIP business communication systems.
