Microsoft News - Imation's IronKey Workspace is Now Microsoft-Certified for Windows To Go

In an effort to bring USB drives and solutions for Windows To Go to market, Imation Corp. - a scalable storage and data security company - announced that its yet to be available IronKey (News - Alert) Workspace has now been certified as a go-to-market USB 3.0-based mobile workspaces for deployment of Windows To Go.
Windows To Go is one of the features of Windows 8 that allows enterprise users to boot a full version of Windows 8 from an external USB drive on multiple host PCs.
As the company’s first planned line of Windows To Go mobile workspaces for government and enterprises, Imation’s IronKey Workspace provides a simple, affordable option for organizations seeking to quickly deploy Windows To Go in their organizations, featuring high-speed USB 3.0 technology and using Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption to protect data.
To be available later in Q4 2012, the IronKey Workspace solution will help users boot a fully functioning Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows 8 desktop directly from a trusted the IronKey USB flash drive.
As a part of the Imation’s Secure Data, Identity and Mobile Workspace product family, the IronKey Workspace in general helps organizations protect against data loss and supports compliance strategies, providing users secure and convenient access to their data and applications wherever they are, while delivering managed security and ensuring compliance over a range of USB devices and removable media.
As a Windows To Go platform certified device, the IronKey Workspace boots directly from a USB flash drive and delivers a fast, full Windows desktop, thereby keeping the mobile workforce productive.
Consequently, Windows To Go-Certified IronKey Workspace helps: employees to easily telework from home; consultants to work in multiple locations; and field personnel to access their corporate desktop from virtually any PC.
According to Imation, it has plans to roll out a new line of solutions, next year, which empower organizations to deploy Windows To Go security-enhanced via the company’s hardware encrypted flash drives, strong authentication and centralized device management.
With a new a line of solutions certified for Windows To Go platform, organizations will be able to turn to Imation for security-enhanced workspace solutions for teleworkers, contractors and travelers at an affordable total cost of ownership using Windows To Go.
