Microsoft News - Novus to Distribute the Media Gateway for Microsoft Lync Server 2013
By Anamika Singh, TMCnet Contributor
Novus, a boutique telecommunications and IP distributor serving value-added resellers throughout North America, announced the distribution of Ferrari electronics OfficeMaster Gate media gateway with firmware that supports the new features of the next generation Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync Server 2013, including the IPv6 protocol.
Novus is the official distributor of Ferrari electronic products for North America. Ferrari electronic worked with the Microsoft Lync product team in Redmond, Washington to develop the firmware for the OfficeMaster Gate media gateway which has been tested at Microsoft.
“Ferrari electronic is currently the only European manufacturer of an enhanced gateway certified for Microsoft Lync Server 2010, and it’s the first manufacturer to integrate its gateway with Lync Server 2013,” stated Novus managing partner, Chris Meehan (News - Alert).
“This creates a compelling value proposition for resellers because they can install software-based OfficeMaster Gate gateway cards now as proof of concepts and deliver a highly scalable gateway solution with a tremendous ROI to small and medium-sized businesses looking for Lync migration solutions,” Meehan added. Novus offers the Ferrari electronic OfficeMasterGate media gateway and OfficeMaster SBA survivable branch appliance to resellers in flexible configurations as either appliances or PCI (News - Alert) boards that can be installed in servers from HP and other leading manufacturers. As one of the first solutions, OfficeMaster SBA supports the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and ensures that phones keep operating in branch offices even if the wide area network (WAN) fails. The OfficeMaster SBA switches over to ISDN if the IP connection to headquarters is interrupted, thus retaining all telephony functions.
“Resellers will find the licensing options particularly appealing, since they can optionally configure gateway and survivable branch appliance functionality on a single card to reduce power consumption, minimize rack space and further reduce costs while benefitting from ongoing improvements through firmware upgrades that are free of charge within the current revision,” added Meehan. Also, Novus is announcing a free comprehensive private training program for resellers who sign up to carry the Ferrari electronic products. As an added incentive, Novus introduced a new promotion called the Novus ‘Lync in a Box’ (News - Alert) Bundle.
The Novus ‘Lync in a Box’ Bundle allows the channel community to earn savings when deploying Ferrari electronic solutions with snom UC edition and Aastra phones in a Microsoft Lync environment. Resellers that purchase one Ferrari electronic OfficeMaster Gateway with any combination of 50 snom UC edition phones will receive five additional phones free, and resellers that purchase one Ferrari electronic OfficeMaster Gateway with any combination of 50 Aastra phones will earn a $200 credit for a future purchase.
