Microsoft News - Aspect's Indonesian Customer Deploys UC Solution
By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor
Software and IT services firm, Aspect, claimed that its Indonesia-based customer, MedcoEnergi, installed a company-wide unified communications solution architected and implemented by Aspect (News - Alert) Professional Services.
The deployment, leveraging the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 platform, delivers instant messaging, telephony, conferencing, voicemail, and presence capabilities to more than 3,700 MedcoEnergi employees in offices across Indonesia.
The goal of Aspect's collaborative efforts with the team is to produce a document that describes a complete Unified Communication (UC) architecture and network design based on the business and technology requirements of the enterprise. To maintain alignment during the planning and design phases of the UC journey, Aspect recommends that UC architecture design efforts overlap with the UC Strategy and Business Case Service. The end result will be a future-state architecture and network design, along with a plan for implementing the required technologies and upgrades into your current environment to ensure a smooth deployment of Microsoft (News - Alert) UC solutions.
Unified Communication Architecture and Network Planning and Design Services from Aspect has helped MedcoEnergi to create a complete unified communications (UC) architecture and network to support their implementation of Microsoft UC solutions. Aspect's experienced architects and consultants define how unified communications capabilities fit into MedcoEnergi's existing environment, develop the optimal architecture topology, and design a voice and data network architecture to support business and technical strategies and requirements.
The company stated in a press release that the solution provides synchronous communications capabilities and presence management with enhanced support and service capabilities, and consolidates the communications needs of multiple offices in one centralized location, reducing travel, telecommunications, and IT operating costs. The UC platform also allows better collaboration and communication among employees driving greater productivity, efficiency, and overall employee satisfaction.
With large and geographically dispersed workforce, MedcoEnergi required a scalable, easy to use solution that would empower their employees with a full range of communications and presence capabilities to maximize productivity and improve employee collaboration, all the while reducing telephony and infrastructure costs, remarked Business Relation Manager of Information Services at PT Medco E&P Indonesia, M. Ageng Wiryawan, in a press release. Wiryawan added that implementing this solution is a crucial first step to embark on integrating UC into the communications infrastructure.
